Administrator Guide – Module Management
The Module Management screen serves as the central control panel for customizing the structure, functionality, and user experience of your Zaris CRM. It gives administrators complete authority over which modules are available, how they behave, and how users interact with them across the entire system.
Overview and Core Function
The Module Management section is the single source of truth for controlling every functional component of your CRM such as Accounts, Contacts, Sales Orders, Projects, and Inventory.
Its primary purpose is to allow administrators to manage the structure, visibility, and configuration of every installed module, aligning the CRM’s functionality with their organization’s workflow.
A key feature here is the Enable/Disable Toggle:
- With this simple switch, an administrator can hide or reveal entire modules system-wide.
- Disabling a module removes it from the user interface, streamlining the workspace and reducing distractions for users.
- Enabling it brings the module back, restoring all records and configurations previously associated with it.
This feature allows businesses to tailor their CRM experience activating only the modules that are relevant to their processes.
Module-Specific Customization Tools
Clicking on any module (for example, Leads or Invoices) opens access to advanced customization settings, allowing fine control over its layout, automation, and data structure.
Here are the key tools available for each module:
Fields & Layout:
Customize which data fields are visible or mandatory and how they appear on the user interface. This tool lets admins design a clean, efficient layout that matches team workflows.
Workflows:
Automate repetitive actions such as sending notifications, updating records, or creating tasks based on specific conditions. Example: Trigger an email when a Lead’s status changes to “Qualified.”
Picklist Values:
Manage dropdown menu options (e.g., Industry Type, Ticket Priority). Administrators can add, edit, or remove picklist values to standardize data entry and reporting.
Numbering:
Define how record numbers are generated (e.g., INV-2025-001 for invoices). This ensures clarity and easy tracking across departments.
Setup Webforms:
Create public-facing forms (like “Contact Us”) that automatically generate new records in the CRM. This streamlines data collection and lead generation.
Project Mapping (if applicable):
Configure how records in this module relate to project management for example, linking Contacts or Opportunities to specific Projects for unified tracking.
Best Practices for Administration
Review Before Disabling:
Always verify dependencies before turning off a module. Some workflows, reports, or linked records may rely on that module.
Test Customizations Safely:
Apply changes in a test environment before pushing them live, especially when modifying workflows or field layouts.
Maintain Data Consistency:
Regularly review picklists and field configurations to ensure standardization across modules.
Document Your Changes:
Keep a record of any customization or module reconfiguration. This helps maintain clarity for future admins or audits.
